Farmactive Alginate is a sterile dressing of calcium alginate with carboxymethylcellulose.
Indications:
- moderately to heavily exuding skin wounds such as pressure sores
- venous ulcers
- diabetic ulcers
- skin graft sites, and traumatic wounds.
- The alginate dressing in contact with wound exudate, forms a soft biocompatible gel which maintains an optimal moist microenvironment for healing. The exchange between exudate and dressing transforms the alginate into a soft gel that can be easily removed without leaving any residue. The dressing is soft and conformable to provide maximum comfort for the patient.
