Polydioxanone(PDO) BIOLONG

Vetsutures BIOLONG is an absorbable synthetic monofilament suture made from polydioxanone (PDO) — the material of choice when a wound needs prolonged support as it heals. BIOLONG combines high starting tensile strength with a slow, predictable loss of strength, making it ideal for tissues that take longer to recover.

As a smooth monofilament it passes through tissue with minimal drag and excellent sliding, for atraumatic placement and secure, easy knot tying.

Indications: approximation and/or ligation of soft tissue; also used in paediatric cardiovascular, microsurgery, ophthalmic and orthopaedic procedures where extended absorbable support is required.
